Fallen angel Ryan Lennox has been fired from the heavenly agency EtherLight, only to be recruited by hell's forces as a pawn in a deadly battle between supernatural agencies. Lennox is a gunman, so whichever side he fights for, gunplay simply plays to his strengths. But will his path of destruction benefit humanity?

A variety of new games can be downloaded to the PlayStation 3 and PSP from the PlayStation Store, including Fat Princess:
PopCapPopCap has released Bookworm Adventures Volume 2 as a download for the PC. The word construction game takes players into "three new literary landscapes" where they make words with which to battle foes.
O-Games, part of Oxygen Interactive, has released My Secret Diary for the DS to stores in North America. The software includes a password-protected diary, mini-games, calendar and fortune-telling functions.
Telltale Games has released Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures: The Bogey Man as a download for the PC. This is the fourth and final episode of this planned season of Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, in which the claymation pair join the Prickly Thicket country club.
Got Game Entertainment has released Memento Mori for the PC both as a download and as a physical box in stores. The adventure game has players pursuing art stolen from the Hermitage museum, traversing Europe and uncovering murders along the way.
This week's downloadable game through Xbox Live Arcade is Marvel vs. Capcom 2. This classic Capcom fighting game has been adapted for the Xbox 360 by Backbone Emeryville and includes 56 characters from Marvel and Capcom's rosters battling it out for supremacy.
Electronic Arts Electronic Arts' Mythic Entertainment division has made the Mondrain's Legacy expansion for Ultima Online available to all subscribers at no charge. Mondrain's Legacy was launched as a premium expansion in 2005, and is now free for all subscribers.
THQTHQ reported its financial results for its first fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2009. THQ also announced plans to undertake a $90 million financing effort.
Mobile publisher Gameloft announced select financial data concerning the company's performance for the first half of 2009:
Square EnixTaito, part of Square Enix, has shipped Space Bust-A-Move for the DS to stores in North America. The game has Bub and Bob continuing to burst bubbles across the endless reaches of space in this long-running puzzle franchise.
Defense Grid: The AwakeningAspyr Media, together with Hidden Path Entertainment, has shipped Defense Grid: The Awakening to retail stores in North America. This tower defense game was released late last year as a PC download and has players reawakening ancient defense systems to defend against an alien invasion.
Ignition EntertainmentIgnition Entertainment, together with SNK Playmore, has released The King of Fighters XII to stores in North America for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. This latest installment in SNK's 15-year old fighting game franchise includes 22 characters battling for supremacy.

CapcomIn May, Capcom shipped Bionic Commando to stores for consoles. Today, Capcom has shipped Bionic Commando for the PC. Inspired by the 8-bit game of the same name originally released for the NES, the game has Nathan Spencer using his bionic arm to battle enemies of the state. The game is available in stores or as a PC download.

While pursuing Prometheus, Mr. Ford is drawn into a conspiracy entwined with the very roots of the United States government.

UbisoftUbisoft reported some of its financial information for its first fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2009:
Matrix Games, together with 2by3 Games, has released War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition for the PC. This is a stand-alone release works without the original War in the Pacific and includes campaigns spanning the entire Pacific Ocean (represented at 40 nautical miles per hex) and new campaigns for turn-based WWII combat in the Pacific theater.
NintendoNintendo has released three more downloadable games for the Wii and one more downloadable game for the DSi:
THQTHQ has been in a long-standing dispute with JAKKS Pacific over the licensing agreement that allows THQ to produce wrestling games licensed by the WWE. This dispute recently went into arbitration, and (according to THQ) the arbitrator has established a payment rate to JAKKS Pacific that is 40% lower than the previous rate. As this rate is effective from July 1, 2006 through December 31, 2009, THQ expects to report a one-time gain of $23 million during its second fiscal quarter ending September 30, 2009.
Tycoon Games has released its interactive fiction, Bionic Heart. This is an illustrated interactive novel that explores a London that in the year 2099 is populated with bionic beings.
Sony Online Entertainment plans to merge the Werner and Gemini servers in its massively multiplayer online first-person shooter PlanetSide. That brings this long-running game down to a total of two servers.
NintendoNintendo's Wii Sports Resort reaches stores today in a package that includes the Wii MotionPlus accessory that improves the Wii Remote's ability to precisely track motion. Wii Sports Resort gives Wii owners the opportunity to try 12 sports ranging from swordplay to canoeing.

This week's downloadable game for the Xbox 360 is 'Splosion Man, the latest Xbox Live Arcade release. For 800 points ($10), Xbox 360 gamers can download this game in which they can make the protagonist explode to complete single-player and cooperative campaign levels.
Harmonix, part of MTV Games (in turn part of Viacom), has released Rock Band Country Track Pack in cooperation with Electronic Arts. This compilation of 21 songs for the owners of Rock Band and Rock Band 2 has been released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PlayStation 2.

G-Force Ships to Stores

Disney's game G-Force, based on the film of the same name, has shipped to stores for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC, PlayStation 2, PSP and DS. The game is a basic platformer based on the film in which players solve simple puzzles while dealing with film-related enemies.
Watchmen: The End is Nigh from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is now available as a game for the Xbox 360, including both the previously released Part 1 and the newly released Part 2. The game is a brawler featuring Night Owl and Rorschach from the graphic novel and film.
Xseed GamesXseed Games has shipped Little King's Story for the Wii to stores in North America. The game puts players into a realm that has passed 35 years without a ruler before King Corobo has finally emerged to take the throne. The young king needs to assign the lazy citizens of his kingdom to jobs that will return the kingdom to prosperity and glory.
NintendoNintendo has released another four downloadable games for the Wii and DSi:
MTV Games (part of Viacom) and its Harmonix Group announced that it will launch the Rock Band Network, an effort to create an online destination "that gives musicians and record labels the ability to author their own original recordings into gameplay files and sell their music as playable Rock Band tracks through the newly-created Rock Band Network Music Store."
Left Behind Games has filed its annual report with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission disclosing its financial results for the year ended March 31, 2009:
Matrix Games, together with Wastelands Interactive, has released WW2: Time of Wrath. This PC game is a turn-based strategy game and sequel to WW2: Road to Victory. It explores four campaigns that span the full war across the European Theater of WWII.
Sony has released more downloadable games for the PlayStation 3 and PSP through the PlayStation store:
Reality Gap has commercially launched Monato Esprit, a free-to-play online game in which players try to read the Dreamworld of invading Nightmares. Reality Gap promises that players will be able to control the economy by selling items in stores and delegating NPCs to charge tolls.

Heracles, son of Zeus, has accepted a challenge of mythical proportions – to race gods, demi-gods and shapely bumble bees across a series of courses leading to the top of Mount Olympus. Will he achieve godhood? Fortune? Fame? Probably not, but Heracles and his competitors can all win a series of three trophies. That alone must be worth braving a possible fall from the clouds after being bumped by a satyr's chariot.

Oliver Neupert and Wolfgang Duhr started a new publisher called "bitComposer Games" in March and are now making their efforts more public. As a publisher, bitComposer plans to focus on games that are distributed online or are available through browsers.
Microsoft has released three more downloadable games for Xbox Live Arcade:
Logitech has shipped the "Logitech Wireless Drum Controller for the PlayStation 3" to stores in North America. This wireless drum kit, licensed by Activision and designed for Rock Band-style games, costs $230, promises 50 hours of battery life with two AA batteries and uses 2.4 GHz wireless technology. The set is designed with recessed rims on the drum heads (to avoid rim shots), adjustable positions for the three drum heads and two cymbal pads as well as a kick pedal. The same kit should be released in Europe next month.

The Vikings have set sail, searching the globe for the components of the perfect barbeque sauce. On the way, they run afoul of other world powers, including the Aztecs' aspiration to growing prize peppers and the Chinese need for entertaining toys. Ronimo Games promises that this simplified strategy game presents "the most incorrect version of world history to date!"

Take-Two Interactive2K Play, a label of Take-Two Interactive, has shipped its game Birthday Party Bash for the Wii to stores in North America. The package includes 12 party invitations, recipes and coupons as well as Wii software with party games for up to 12 players.
Her Interactive has shipped Nancy Drew: Ransom of the Seven Ships for the PC to stores in North America. This adventure game has Nancy travelling to the Bahamas with her friends Bess and George, when Bess is kidnapped and held for ransom.
Electronic ArtsElectronic Arts has brought its game NCAA Football 10 to stores in North America. This latest installment in EA's franchise of college football games adds a "create-a-school" feature in which players can create their own institution, complete with customized logos, uniforms, fields and rosters. The game is available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP and PlayStation 2.
Take-Two InteractiveTake-Two Interactive has lowered its financial guidance for its fiscal year ending October 31, 2009 due to a number of factors including a delay of the release of BioShock 2, sequel to BioShock.
NintendoNintendo has launched another selection of downloadable games for the Wii and DSi:
Bayer, the healthcare company, is planning on launching a DS-compatible device in Europe to help diabetic children monitor their glucose levels. Called the "Didget Meter," it connects directly to the DS. Intended for children aged five to 14, the device will help children check their blood glucose levels. It will also include an adventure game and collection of mini-games.

Nearly two decades ago, the "Mighty Pirate" Guybrush Threepwood faced off against the sinister pirate LeChuck, launching one of the most beloved adventure game franchises of all time. Now, after nearly a decade stuck in the doldrums, Threepwood is back... accompanied by his wife Elaine, LeChuck, the mysterious Voodoo Lady and other familiar figures from Threepwood's past. Unfortunately and unwittingly, Threepwood has infected the entire Caribbean with LeChuck's infernal voodoo, and must cope with the corruption of the Caribbean before he can be reunited with his wife.

A variety of new games have been released as downloads through the PlayStation Store:
Sony Online Entertainment has launched the latest expansion for its EverQuest-themed online collectible card game Legends of Norrath. Storm Break is the final chapter in the "Ethernauts" plot arc of the game, adding around 240 cards to the game. This episode also sets up the next story arc, to be called "The Shadow Odyssey."
Paradox InteractiveParadox Interactive has released its compilation Europa Universalis: Rome - Gold to stores in North America. The compilation includes Europa Universalis: Rome and the Vae Victis expansion pack, allowing players to explore Roman-era combat and politics.
Matrix Games has released World War II: General Commander for the PC. The game is a strategy game appropriate for introductory players in which players lead the German or Allied forces at the Battle of the Bulge and 13 other scenarios from the European operations of WWII.

Cole was a bike messenger, surviving from day to day in the urban canyons of Empire City. Then he was specifically requested to deliver a unique package downtown – a package so unique that it detonated, destroyed six square blocks and killed thousands of people. Now, Cole is widely seen as a terrorist, has alienated his girlfriend, and finds himself developing electricity-based superpowers. As he masters his ability to hurl lightning bolts and fly, Cole has to decide if he will vent his rage on the ravaged city, or save the populace from an emerging supernatural threat.

Got Game Entertainment, together with Bohemia Interactive, has shipped Arma II for the PC to stores in North America. The game is a modern military combat simulation that features both a solo campaign and extensive multiplayer options.
Electronic ArtsElectronic Arts has provided this week's downloadable game for Xbox Live Arcade, Battlefield 1943. The game offers four maps and multiplayer gameplay based on Battlefield 1942 (rebuilt using DICE's Frostbite engine), although only three of the maps are available initially. In the game, up to 24 players can compete to control World War II battlefields on foot or in various vehicles.
Telltale games has released Tales of Monkey Island: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal as a download for the PC. This marks the return of Guybrush Threepwood and the other Monkey Island characters to adventure gaming, this time in episodic form.

A plague is overtaking Manhattan. Alex Mercer is at the center of that outbreak, although he has no memory of his past life or recent actions, and no understanding of why he can survive lethal bullet wounds and leap to the top of buildings like a plague-bearing superhero. As he unlocks the secrets of a virus that can use every base-pair of his DNA to turn him into a superhuman, Mercer will battle a secret wing of the military created to combat his very genetic code.

CapcomCapcom has released the PC version of Street Fighter IV to stores and download portals. The game shipped for consoles in February, and brings the latest iteration of the classic 2D fighting franchise (rendered in 3D) to the PC.
Take-Two Interactive2K Sports (the sports label of Take-Two Interactive) has shipped The Bigs 2 to stores for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PSP and PlayStation 2. The Bigs 2 is 2K Sports' arcade-style baseball game and adds a "Season" mode and a "Become a Legend" mode to the franchise.
O-Games has shipped CID The Dummy for the Wii, PSP and PlayStation 2 to stores in North America. The game casts players as a Crash Impact Dummy (CID) asked to save the beautiful daughter of Professor Werken (she's a princess... of science!).
Take-Two Interactive2K Games (part of Take-Two Interactive) in conjunction with Bethesda Softworks, has shipped a bundle for the Xbox 360 and PC that includes BioShock and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Both games can be purchased together for $40 on the Xbox 360 and $30 on the PC.
UbisoftWith support from the government of the Canadian province of Ontario, Ubisoft is opening a new studio in Toronto, Ontario.

A few years after the Ghostbusters saved Manhattan and the world in the events of Ghostbusters II, a huge wave of psychokinetic energy strikes New York City. Coincidentally, this occurs moments after the Ghostbusters have picked up a new recruit who can do all the heavy lifting and ghost busting for the famous, wisecracking parapsychologists.

Sony has released a variety of downloadable games this week through the PlayStation Store, including Punisher: No Mercy for the PlayStation 3 and a variety of downloadable PSP games:
The International Game Developers Association has appointed Joshua Caulfield as the IGDA's new Executive Director. Previously, Caulfield has served as Executive Vice President and interim Executive Director of the American Machine Tool Distributor's Association.
SouthPeak GamesSouthPeak Games has delivered two Roogoo games to stores. Roogoo Twisted Towers for the Wii and Roogoo Attack! for the DS both have players rotating platforms to save the planet Roo from Prince Moo. By rotating platforms, players capture different shapes of powerful meteors.
Aspyr has shipped Treasure World for the DS to stores in North America. Treasure World has players using the DS to locate Wi-Fi signals that unlock rewards ranging from flowers and tiki torches to the Statue of Liberty. Players can then decorate their in-game world with those items.
