- Square Enix reported its financial results for its fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2012. For the quarter, Square Enix reported a net loss of ¥2.077 billion (around $26 million), compared to net income of ¥690 million in the same quarter the previous year. The company pointed to Dragon Quest Monsters Terry No Wonderland 3D as its best-selling console game of the quarter.
- In the world of bizarre licensing deals, a company called Epic Scents is releasing "Scent Blasters" (air fresheners), in the shape of Capcom's characters Mega Man and Proto Man. Apparently, Mega Man smells like "...an invigorating blend of fresh and dewy top notes with a deep masculine background."
