Square Enix Reports Fiscal Year Profit

Square EnixSquare Enix announced the financial results for its fiscal year ended March 31, 2012. Square Enix reported a profit (unlike last year) thanks to the success of certain console titles. Read on for more details...
For the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012, Square Enix reported net income of ¥6.060 billion (around $76 million), compared to a net loss of ¥12.043 billion in the previous year.

Square Enix reported that the improved results were "...due to increased sales of console games..." such as Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Final Fantasy XIII-2. Square Enix has also enjoyed strong results from its online game Sengoku Ixa that launched in 2010. The company's amusement operations (coin-op–style arcade games) were stagnant.
