This Year's April Fooling

It's April 1, and that means a variety of "April Fools" jokes are extant on the web. We'd like to say that recent massive job losses are pranks, but (sadly) that's not the case. You'll have to try and find solace in this list of silliness that we'll continue to update as new gags are revealed:

• Wargaming.net announced the addition of dragons to its game World of Warplanes
• Petroglyph Games announced the addition of Karapyss the Crabomancer to its game Rise of Immortals based on this Penny Arcade strip from last year
• Mojang announced that its next game will be Mars Effect, a hard science fiction game featuring "Waist high walls [sic]" and "A game ending that makes sense."
• Evil Controllers has released this You Tube video promoting its new "Evil Button" (the "Set it and Forget it!" button that plays the game for you.)
• Paradox Interactive has launched MetaMetaCritic, a site that evaluates game journalists based on reader reviews of the reviewers. We wish this one weren't a joke.
• Blizzard has announced a line of educational games called Blizzard Kidzz. We'd play Zergling Teaches Typing.
• Blizzard has also launched the browser game (coming soon to smartphones and tablets) Supply Depot 2: A StarCraft Adventure. Yes, the game is playable, and check out the credits.
• Google Maps is now available in an 8-bit version for the NES
• Oscium has released the iSpaced accessory for the iPhone or iPad. For only $49,990, this accessory will launch your device into a default orbiting altitude of 30,000 feet.
• Think Geek has another great set of April Fool products, including The Skyrim Hoodie (complete with dragon shout capabilities), The Admiral Ackbar Singing Bass, and Minecraft Marshmallow Creeps.
• Square Enix announced that its game Quantum Conundrum will feature a chocolate dimension including edible terrain and (chocolate) Easter eggs.
• Atlus has released the Block of Ages update for its game Rock of Ages
• Astro Gaming has launched the Astro A1 Headset for the Sega Genesis, complete with a three-foot cord, for only $200
• Razer has released a video promoting the Razer SnakeEyes, a heads-up display for real-life
• Blizzard introduces the Zergotchi virtual-pet–style authenticator
• Blizzard even introduced its Fledgling Heroes series of young-adult novels
• There's a promotional video for Bass Fishing of the Dead
• Another video promotes Assassin's Creed for the Kinect Sensor
• Firefly Studios revealed a new lunar map for its game Stronghold: Kingdoms featuring attacks that can drift off into space
• Harmonix announced the Rock Band board game - view the video or download the board yourself.
• THQ revealed the Saint's Row The Third DLC: "Enter the Dominatrix", featuring an alien invasion and a giant, sentient can of Saints Flow energy drink named Paul
