Activision Blizzard Hires DD as its New CFO

Activision BlizzardActivision Blizzard has hired Dennis Durkin to serve as the company's Chief Financial Officer. Durkin, 41, previously served at Microsoft as Chief Operating and Financial Officer of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business. Thomas Tippl has been the interim Chief Financial Officer for Activision Blizzard, and can now focus fully on his responsibilities as the company's Chief Operating Officer. Durkin joins Activision Blizzard with a base salary of $650,000 per year (with scheduled increases of at least 5% per year). He also has a discretionary bonus with a target amount of 100% of his base salary and a signing bonus of $1.25 million. In addition to other benefits, Durkin also receives the option to purchase 300,000 shares of common stock and 350,000 shares of restricted stock. In other words, Durkin is being paid well to leave Microsoft.
