EverQuest II Goes Free-To-Play (And It's For Real, This Time)

| | Comments (0)
Sony Online EntertainmentLast year, Sony Online Entertainment took EverQuest II free-to-play in a half-assed way. Inspired by other market players such as Warner Bros. Turbine division, SOE converted EverQuest II to a free-to-play version that offered substantial premium content, but did so as EverQuest II Extended. Rather than committing to the change, the company tried to keep the original game running as-is, while running the free-to-play version in parallel. Finally, SOE announced that EverQuest II will go completely free-to-play in December. No more half-assing it. The new version of free-to-play EverQuest II will still be free to download and install, and the premium options will be cheaper than were announced for Ever Quest II Extended.
