CCP, the company behind
EVE Online, has recently experienced a
variety of problems, some of which have hurt its flagship massively multiplayer online game. As a result, CCP
announced that it plans to refocus its business and lay off 20% of its worldwide staff. Different sources suggest that number will result in the loss of around 100 to 120 staff members in various offices. CCP plans to move staff off of the
World of Darkness massively multiplayer online game and put them onto the development and improvement of
EVE Online and
Dust 514, the persistent multiplayer shooter for the PlayStation 3 based in the
EVE universe.
