Qwikster (Formerly Netflix) to Add Game Rentals

| | Comments (0)
NetflixNetflix has announced that it plans to split its disc-rental service and streaming content service. That's a big deal, but somewhat tangential to gaming, so if you're interested in analysis, head over to this article on Wired. FI readers may be interested to note that the disc-rental service dubbed Qwikster (the streaming content service will retain the Netflix name) will be adding rental of Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii games for an additional monthly fee "similar to our upgrade option for Blu-ray." This will put Netflix in direct competition with GameFly.
