Mad CatzPeripheral manufacturer Mad Catz announced its financial results for its fiscal first quarter ended June 30, 2011. Mad Catz lost even more money this quarter, and reported weakness in areas other than PC peripherals. Read on for more details...
For its fiscal first quarter ended June 30, 2011, Mad Catz reported a net loss of $3.483 million, compared to a net loss of $1.375 million in the same quarter the previous year.

Mad Catz noted that its 17.3% decline in net sales "... reflects several factors, including weak sales of videogame products and weak European market demand, which more than offset the sales growth of the Company's Tritton, Cyborg and Saitek product lines." In other words, PC controllers were the one area that remained strong, with sales of console peripherals dropping off. Gross sales of PC-related peripherals were 31% of total gross sales, compared to 17% in the same quarter the previous year.
