Electronic Arts announced significant changes in the company's leadership. Peter Moore (formerly of Microsoft and most recently the president of EA Sports) is now EA's Chief Operating Officer (
John Schappert resigned abruptly in April). Frank Gibeau is taking over as President of the EA Labels (which include EA Games, EA Sports, EA Play and BioWare). Barry Cottle will head EA Interactive (including Playfish, Pogo, EA Mobile and PopCap). The details of the changes are largely internal, but the move is a directional change for EA designed to better integrate social and mobile media with the rest of the company's efforts.
