Read on for more details...
For the fiscal third quarter ended July 2, 2011, Disney's Interactive Media segment reported a loss of $86 million (compared to a loss of $65 in the same quarter the previous year) on $251 million of revenues (compared to $197 million of revenues in the same quarter the prior year). Interactive Media was the only Disney segment to report an operating loss in the quarter.

Disney noted that the loss was driven by the acquisition of Playdom. The company also reported that its console game business improved somewhat thanks to higher sales and lower marketing costs.
