For the fiscal year ended March 31, 2011, Atari announced current operating income (not audited GAAP net income) of €4.4 million (around $6 million) compared to an operating loss of €2.2 million in the prior year.

Atari emphasized that this year's results were stronger than last year, and hopes that an increased social games presence and more licensing deals will further improve the company's results.

Atari also announced that it plans to divest itself of Cryptic Studios (the studio behind Champions Online and Star Trek Online). Atari stated that "external development creates more flexibility in the changing marketplace." In other words, you don't have to keep paying an external developer if they don't work out.
