| | Comments (0)
GameStopRetailer GameStop announced that it has acquired Spawn Labs and entered into an agreement to acquire Impulse. Read on for more details...
Spawn Labs is a company that focuses on streaming technology that will join GameStop's R&D group to improve the company's digital game products and services. Terms of the acquisition were not discussed.

Impulse is a subsidiary of Stardock Systems, and while the acquisition is still subject to certain conditions, it is expected to close in May of this year. Impulse is Stardock's digital distribution platform and includes the tools for customers and publishers (as well as integrated digital rights management). Impulse is expected to continue operating as its own platform, but should integrate with GameStop's business in the future. Financial terms were not disclosed concerning the acquisition of Impulse, either.
