Ubisoft Reports Stronger-Than-Expected Holiday Sales

UbisoftUbisoft reported limited financial information concerning its fiscal third quarter ended December 31, 2011. In particular, Ubisoft reported stronger than expected sales. Read on for more details...
For its fiscal third quarter ended December 31, 2011, Ubisoft reported sales of €600 million (around $809 million) compared to sales of €495 million in the same quarter the previous year. Ubisoft did not provide net income information or results according to U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principals).


Ubisoft had expected sales from this holiday quarter to reach €520 million. The company reported exceeding this target thanks to strong sales of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, various dance titles and Kinect-enabled titles.

For the quarter, Ubisoft reported Wii games contributing 44% of sales (compared to 21% of sales in the same quarter the previous year). Xbox 360 games contributed 29% to sales and PlayStation 3 games contributed 21% to sales with other platforms making up the rest of sales.
