Square Enix Reports Lower Nine-Month Profits

Square Enix reported net income for the nine-month period of ¥1.821 billion (around $22 million), compared to net income of ¥7.797 billion in the same period the prior year.

Square Enix noted that it plans to better pursue social PC games and smartphone games to further diversify the company's business. Hopefully, this will offset weak performance of Square Enix's console titles. Square Enix also implemented organizational changes during the third quarter to cut corporate costs.
