Capcom Reports Stronger Nine-Month Profits Thanks to Strong Game Sales

CapcomCapcom announced selected financial results for the nine-month period ended December 31, 2010 (for the financial year that ends March 31, 2011. Read on for more details...
For the first nine months of its fiscal year, Capcom reported net income of ¥6.836 billion (around $84 million) compared with net income of ¥1.731 billion in the same period the previous year.


Capcom primarily credited Monster Hunter Freedom 3, a game that sold more than four million copies, but also acknowledged strong sales of Dead Rising 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes and Monhan Nikki Pokapoka Airu Mura.

Capcom acknowledged that it is improving its investment in mobile and social games, but most of Capcom's nine-month profits came from consumer games, rather than the company's mobile or arcade businesses.
