Nintendo Reports Six-Month Loss

For the six month period ended September 30, 2010, Nintendo reported a net loss of ¥2.011 billion (around $25 million), compared to net income of ¥69.492 billion in the same period the previous year.

Nintendo praised the strong sales in Japan of Pokemon games and the sales of Super Mario Galaxy 2, worldwide. Nintendo blamed the financial results on low sales of the DS (people appear to be waiting for the 3DS) and on the unfavorably weak dollar lowering the impact of U.S. sales.
