Champions Online to Become Free-To-Play

| | Comments (0)
AtariAtari announced that it is following the likes of Turbine's The Lord of the Rings and Sony Online Entertainment's EverQuest II by converting its game Champions Online into a free-to-play experience. The conversion will occur in the first quarter of 2011 and will allow players to either subscribe to virtually all content for $15 per month or purchase powers, items, costumes and adventure packs a la carte. Rather than simply because Turbine's model is good business, FI suspects this to be a last-ditch attempt to convert Champions Online into a profitable enterprise.
