THQ Reports Massive First Quarter Loss

| | Comments (0)
THQTHQ announced its financial results for its first fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2010:
For the quarter, THQ reported a net loss of $30.110 million, compared with net profit in the same quarter the previous year of $6.409 million.

During the quarter, THQ shipped around 2.7 million copies of its game UFC Undisputed 2010, but as good as the number sounds, this is considerably lower than THQ's previous UFC Undisputed, thus contributing to the quarter's disappointing results. In a call with investors, THQ said that it is considering releasing UFC games less often than once per year, hopefully improving sales of each release.
