Online Gaming is Second Most Common Use of the Internet

Market research firm Nielsen released a note earlier this week breaking down the amount of time that people spend online by activity. While the focus was on the growth of time spent on social networking, online games edged its way up to the #2 spot, taking up 10.2% of U.S. Internet time in June of 2010, compared to 9.3% in June of 2010. By contrast, social networks took up 22.7% of U.S. Internet time with e-mail coming in third at 8.3%.
