| | Comments (0)
Sony released its financial results for its fiscal first quarter ended June 30, 2010. Read on for more details:
For the quarter, Sony reported net income of ¥25.7 billion (around $290 million), compared to a net loss of ¥37.1 billion in the same quarter the previous year.

As with other Japanese companies, Sony suffered some from poor exchange rates causing their overseas sales to be worth less to the parent company, but Sony reported several business segments with strong results.

Sony's Networked Products & Services unit (which includes PlayStation 3 services) reported an operating loss of ¥3.8 billion compared to an operating loss of ¥26.7 billion in the same quarter the previous year. Sony credited improved PlayStation 3 and PC sales for improvements in the unit.
