Square Enix Reports Strong Fiscal Year Results
Square Enix announced its consolidated financial results for its fiscal year ended March 31, 2010:
For the year, Square Enix reported net income of ¥9.509 billion (around $103 million), compared to net income of ¥6.333 billion in the previous year.
Square Enix proudly gloated that the company had three games that shipped over three million units (Final Fantasy XIII, Dragon Quest IX and Batman: Arkham Asylum) and that it has "successfully acquired and integrated U.K.-based Eidos." Unquestionably, the company had an impressive year in a difficult global economy, the success of which was primarily attributable to Square Enix's "Games" group. Square Enix reported that operating income in its Games segment increased 254% to ¥23.814 billion.
