Nintendo Reports Slightly Less Colossal Annual Income

| | Comments (0)
NintendoNintendo announced the results of its fiscal year ended March 31, 2010:
For the year, Nintendo reported net income of ¥228.635 billion (around $2.5 billion), compared to ¥279.089 billion in the previous year. While still strong, Nintendo blames the lower net income numbers on "a price reduction on Wii hardware, fewer strong Wii software titles in the first half and appreciation of the yen."

For the year, Nintendo sold 12.29 million DS units in the Americas, and 27.11 million units worldwide. Nintendo has sold a total of 128.89 million DS units since the line's launch. Nintendo sold 20.53 million Wii consoles this year, and has sold 70.93 million Wii consoles since the unit's launch.
