Namco Bandai Reports Enormous Losses

Namco Bandai GamesNamco Bandai Holdings announced its financial results for its fiscal year ended March 31, 2010:
For the year, Namco Bandai reported a net loss of ¥29.080 billion (around $318 million), compared to net income of ¥11.830 billion in the previous year.

Namco Bandai's game segment posted the largest operating loss of all its segments (¥6.845 billion), with significant losses (¥1.828 billion) resulting from corporate restructuring and expenses. Namco Bandai's toy units posted operating income of ¥10.786 billion, performing far better than the company's video games.

Namco Bandai is currently in the midst of a restructuring it hopes will turn around the business.
