Capcom Reports Significantly Lower Annual Profit

| | Comments (0)
CapcomCapcom released selected financial results for its fiscal year ended March 31, 2010:
For the year, Capcom reported net income of ¥2.167 billion (around $23 million), compared to net income of ¥8.063 billion in the previous year.

Capcom noted that its losses on its arcade business continued to grow as the company has restructured and revised its arcade infrastructure, resulting in an operating loss rather than an operating profit in that unit. Even the home video games operations had its operating income halved. For this latest fiscal year, home video games provided operating income of ¥7.846 billion compared to ¥16.392 billion in the previous year. Capcom noted that Bionic Commando, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles and Dark Void all underperformed in North American markets.
