GameStop CFO Resigns After Six Months

| | Comments (0)
GameStopGameStop announced today that its Chief Financial Officer, Catherine Smith, has resigned and will be accepting a position at Walmart. Robert Lloyd, Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer will serve as interim Chief Financial Officer while GameStop searches for a replacement. On the news, GameStop's stock price fell close to 10%. The concern is that Smith only took the CFO post in August, so why is she resigning after two quarters? She might simply have been lured by the promise of a Walmart job, but investors are concerned she learned something disconcerting during her tenure as GameStop's CFO that prompted her departure.
