EA Reports Smaller Quarterly Loss

Electronic ArtsElectronic Arts reported its financial results for its fiscal third quarter ended December 31, 2009:
For the quarter, Electronic Arts reported a net loss of $82 million, compared to a net loss of $641 million in the same quarter the previous year. EA was particularly pleased with the sales of Dragon Age: Origins and its distribution of Left 4 Dead 2 during the quarter.


By region, 58% of revenues came from North America, 38% of revenues came from Europe and the rest of the world contributed the remainder. By platform, 27% of revenues came from the sale of Xbox 360 games, 18% came from PlayStation 3 games, 15% came from the sale of Wii games with other platforms making up the remainder of revenues.
