Assassin's Creed II Games Ship to Stores, Ubisoft Introduces Uplay
Ubisoft's sequels to Assassin's Creed are now in stores. Assassin's Creed II for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 lets players re-create the memories of Ezio Auditore, an assassin from Renaissance Italy. The PC version of the game should reach stores next year. Also available today are Assassin's Creed II: Bloodlines for the PSP and Assassin's Creed II: Discovery, both of which provide slightly different takes on the same story.
Ubisoft has also introduced "Uplay" in beta form alongside the launch of Assassin's Creed II. Uplay maintains players' statistics and an alternate set of achievements across platforms (including the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC). People using Uplay can collect "units" that can be then be redeemed for in-game content. For example, in Assassin's Creed II, Uplay units can be used to unlock an Altair costume reminiscent of the original game.
