Activision Reports Third Quarter Income

| | Comments (0)
Activision BlizzardActivision Blizzard announced its financial results for its fiscal third quarter ended September 30, 2009:
For the quarter, Activision Blizzard reported net income of $15 million. This is the last quarter when the results from the previous year are not comparable thanks to the reverse acquisition of Activision by Vivendi. Even so (and largely due to the reverse acquisition), the combined entity lost a lot of money in the same quarter the previous year.

Activision Blizzard credits the positive results to World of Warcraft, the Guitar Hero franchise and the Call of Duty franchise. For the quarter, the company reported $301 million of revenues from massively multiplayer online games (presumably, World of Warcraft).
