Sony has released the v3.00 firmware update for the PlayStation 3. This update makes a lot of cosmetic changes to the PlayStation 3 user interface, including a new logo, a new appearance for the Xross Media Bar, animated themes, customized avatars and makes it substantially easier for Sony to alert users to premium content. Along with changes to the way in which trophies are displayed and a status indicator that presents a thumbnail of useful information, the update includes numerous tweaks and updates.
