nVidia Reports Large Quarterly Loss

| | Comments (0)
Hardware manufacturer nVidia confirmed its financial results for its fiscal first quarter ended April 26, 2009:
For the quarter, nVidia reported a net loss of $201.338 million compared to net income in the same quarter the previous year of $176.805 million. That's a substantially worse result, but is not only the result of revenues that are nearly half those of the same quarter in the previous year but also include a charge of $140.2 million in connection with purchasing employee stock options.

These results aren't particularly surprising, given that the current recession has a large impact on the purchase of high-end video cards.
