EA Debases BattleForge Currency

| | Comments (0)
Electronic ArtsIn March, Electronic Arts shipped BattleForge to stores. The game is a collectible strategy game in which gamers purchase units that can be used to create armies. As of today, EA has already reduced the price of the base game to $30. That's not necessarily news for most games, but given that the base game comes with a set amount of currency, that's equivalent to debasing the in-game currency to attract more players.
It's a great tactic for bringing in more players, but can alienate existing players in a collectible format.
