| | Comments (1)
Activision BlizzardActivision Blizzard announced its financial results for its fiscal first quarter ended March 31, 2009.
For the quarter, Activision Blizzard reported net income of $189 million. The company did not provide a number that is truly comparable for the same quarter the prior year since at that point Activision had not been acquired by Vivendi Games through the reverse acquisition that occurred last year.

The company reported "MMORPG" income (think: World of Warcraft) of $314 million for the quarter, providing 32% of the company's net revenues. After that segment, Xbox 360 games provided 20% of net revenues, Wii games provided 14% of net revenues and PlayStation 3 games provided 13% of net revenues.

Awesome figures! And I'm so glad to know that despite the recession, Blizzard and other gaming companies are striving hard to still stay alive. I hope Blizzard would give out something free to its subscribers in WoW as a token of appreciation.
