Square Enix Settles Lawsuit Against Sword-Sellers

| | Comments (0)
Square EnixSlightly over a year ago, Square Enix filed a federal lawsuit against wholesalers selling copies of Final Fantasy swords. Today, the company excitedly announced that the four defendants (Edgework Imports, Top Swords, Wholesale Gallery and Pacific Solutions Marketing) have settled the suit. Pacific Solutions Marketing has entered a separate settlement agreement, but the other three have (collectively) agreed to pay $600,000 for their infringement.
The defendants issued a statement: "We regret having sold unauthorized replica merchandise based on the Final Fantasy franchise to our customers. We would not have begun importing and selling these swords if we knew that Square Enix would respond so aggressively to stop us. We will never make this mistake again."
