SOE Deals With Topps to Make Free Realms Physical

Sony Online Entertainment is including an online trading card game within its upcoming virtual world aimed at younger gamers, Free Realms (currently in beta-testing). Sony has worked out a deal with The Topps Company (owned by The Tornante Company and Madison Dearborn Partners) such that in the first half of next year, The Topps Company will offer a physical counterpart to the virtual card game available within Free Realms. The physical Free Realms trading card game will include loot cards that unlock items in the virtual world.
