Bethesda Softworks, part of ZeniMax Media, plans to release an editor for the PC version of Fallout 3 next month, followed by downloadable content beginning in January.
The editor is dubbed the G.E.C.K. (Garden of Eden Creation Kit) and will be available as a free download in December. It will allow players to build their own landscapes, stories, weapons, creatures and other content.

Downloadable content will be released for the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game, starting with Operation Anchorage in January. Operation Anchorage will have players entering a military simulation to participate in the battle to liberate Anchorage, Alaska from Chinese Communist invaders.

The Pitt will be the second downloadable content pack, released in February, and will have players journey to the industrial raider town located in the remains of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

In March, Broken Steel will be released. Broken Steel will follow the events of the main game's plots, having the player help the Brotherhood of Steel rid the Capital Wasteland of remnants of the Enclave.
