PlayStation 3 Firmware Updating to v2.50 Soon

PlayStation 3Sony is launching the v2.50 update for the PlayStation 3 later this month. The firmware update will enhance nearly every aspect of the PlayStation 3 in some way, adding:
  • support for Sony's Bluetooth Headset;
  • the ability to take in-game screenshots;
  • improvements to trophies, including custom trophy icons and features to make it easier to compare trophies with friends;
  • improved video search capabilities;
  • direct links from the Information Board to the PlayStation Store;
  • a power-save function that makes it easy to automatically shut off the console or controller after a pre-selected amount of time;
  • friend status updates that indicate how long it has been since a friend was last online; and
  • an option in the PlayStation Store making it easier to redeem codes.
