Game Development Employees Increase 12% in North America

Think Services, the company behind the Game Developers Conference and Game Developer Magazine, recently completed its second Game Developer Census, estimating that there are 12% more employees in game development than last year in North America.
This year's census estimates the total number of game development employees in the United States as 44,400, compared to 39,700 last year. Canadian game development employees also increased, to 9,500 from 8,100 last year.

Think services argues that this increase is a combination of companies staffing up to deal with the newest generation of consoles along with investment in massively multiplayer online games.
