Square Enix Offers to Acquire Tecmo

| | Comments (0)
Square EnixSquare Enix has issued a friendly takeover bid for Tecmo.
The offer to acquire Tecmo is subject to the consent of the Tecmo board of directors to Square Enix's takeover bid. Square Enix has offered to acquire Tecmo for ¥920 per share (approximately a 30% premium to Tecmo's closing stock price) and is willing to acquire all the outstanding stock of the company (although the offer is conditional on acquiring more than half of Tecmo's stock). The proposal will be withdrawn if it does not receive the consent of the Tecmo Board of Directors by September 4.

Remember when Square was just "Square" and Enix was making games about giant robots with kids on their shoulders? Will the resulting company be called "Square Enix Tecmo?"
