NCsoft Reports Increased Second Quarter Sales, Reduced Net Income

| | Comments (0)
NCsoftNCsoft announced certain financial results for its second fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2008.
For the quarter, NCsoft reported net income of KRW 6.1 billion (around $5.9 million), a 42% drop from the company's net income in the same quarter the previous year. Despite the drop in net income, NCsoft experienced an increase in sales that the company attributes to updates of Lineage II and shutting down private (and unlicensed) Lineage servers. NCsoft attributes its considerably reduced net income to its investment in future games, particularly Aion.

By region, 58% of NCsoft's sales came from Korea, with 13% coming from each of North America and Japan, 6% from Europe and 4% from Taiwan.

By title, NCsoft noted that around $27.2 million of sales came from Lineage, $33.6 million came from Lineage II, $5.5 million came from City of Heroes and City of Heroes, $4.9 came from Guild Wars and $1.9 million came from Tabula Rasa.
