Blockbuster Reports Massive Quarterly Loss, But Blockbuster's Game Sales Approach Movie Sales

Retailer and rental company Blockbuster announced its financial results for its fiscal second quarter ended July 6, 2008.
For the quarter, Blockbuster reported a net loss of $41.9 million, compared to a net loss of $30.3 million in the same quarter the previous year.


For the quarter, 5.9% of domestic revenues came from game rentals, while 63.9% of domestic revenues came from movie rentals. In contrast, 4.8% of domestic revenues came from game sales, while 5.3% of domestic revenues came from movie sales.
