As Sony declared in its press conference today, it is planning a number of new hardware bundles, including a $400 80 GB PlayStation 3.
In September, Sony plans to start selling an 80 GB PlayStation 3 for $399, that is essentially the 40 GB model with a larger hard drive. That means that the 80 GB model will not have all the functionality of the original 60 GB PlayStation 3 models (meaning that the new PlayStation 3 will only have two USB 2.0 ports, will not include the multi-card data reader and will not be compatible with PlayStation 2 software.

Sony also announced a new PSP bundle that will go on sale in October. The bundle will include a silver PSP, a copy of Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, an unnamed movie on UMD, a 1GB Memory Stick and a voucher to download the game Echochrome from the PlayStation Store. The bundle will cost $200.

Finally, Sony announced a new PlayStation 2 bundle that will be released that will cost $150 and will include a PlayStation 2, a copy of Lego Batman: The Videogame and a copy of the DVD Justice League: The New Frontier.
