Rock Band IIHarmonix, part of MTV Networks, confirmed that it plans to launch Rock Band 2 shortly with Electronic Arts as distribution partner. The game will launch for the Xbox 360 in September, ultimately reaching the PlayStation 3, Wii and PlayStation 2 later this year.
Rock Band 2 features a lot of enhancements including a revamped World Tour mode, the ability to engage in a "battle of the bands" with other online combos, customizable set lists and backwards compatibility that will allow Rock Band 2 owners to play most of the original Rock Band songs and all the downloadable content for the original game. Furthermore, there will be a drum training mode and the ability to get into the game even faster. The game will even allow for an upcoming cymbal expansion pack that will enhance the drum set.
