Sony Promises PlayStation 3 Trophies Soon

Sony is planning to release the v2.36 firmware update for the PlayStation 3 shortly to increase system stability, but that's not the big news. Sony has confirmed that when the v2.40 update is released, it will add support for XMB (XrossMediaBar) access in-game, and will add the long-promised trophies. Trophies have been discussed in a way that makes them sound similar in function to Xbox Live Achievements. By promising trophies in the v2.40 update, Sony is clearly trying to suggest they will arrive soon, without promising a specific date.
