Games for Windows Label Widens its Purview

MicrosoftIn an event today in San Francisco, Microsoft is busy highlighting the existing games that are part of its "Games for Windows" label, and has added 16 new games to the official Games for Windows line-up:
First, Microsoft wanted to emphasize the line-up of games that are nearing release (or were very recently released) that are part of the Games for Windows brand:
  • Bionic Commando from Capcom
  • Call of Duty: World at War from Activision
  • Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Colonization from 2K Games
  • Devil May Cry 4 from Capcom
  • Ghostbusters: The Video Game from Sierra Entertainment
  • Kung Fu Panda from Activision
  • Space Siege from Sega
  • WALL-E from THQ

Microsoft also confirmed a list of games that will be added to the Games for Windows label:
  • Battlestations: Midway from Eidos
  • Battlestations: Pacific from Eidos
  • Borderlands from 2K Games
  • Call of Duty: World at War from Activision
  • Crysis: Warhead from Crytek
  • Dawn of War 2 from THQ
  • Quantum of Solace from Activision
  • Lego Batman: The Videogame from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
  • Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa Video Game from Activision
  • Mafia II from 2K Games
  • Project Origin from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
  • Red Faction: Guerilla from THQ
  • Saints Row 2 from THQ
  • Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Collection from Microsoft

Microsoft wanted to further emphasize the importance of PC gaming, pointing out that according to the Yankee Group's research, PC gaming online revenue should reach $3.89 billion by 2012.
