Atari Reports Smaller Annual Loss
Atari announced its financial results for its fiscal fourth quarter and financial year ended March 31, 2008.
For the year, Atari (whose majority owner is Infogrames), reported a net loss of $23.334 million, compared to a net loss of $69.711 million last year. For the fourth quarter, Atari reported a net loss of $3.667 million, compared to a net loss of $61.703 million in the same quarter the prior year. The company noted that the loss would have been smaller were it not for restructuring charges. Clearly, some of those restructuring efforts are helping, as the company's losses were considerably lower than last year, despite lower revenues.
