Sierra Preparing the Release of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor for Late July
Sierra, part of Vivendi Games, confirmed that it plans to release a video game for the Wii, PlayStation 2 and DS based on the upcoming film The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
Last week saw Gameloft announce that it is working on a mobile Mummy game based on this upcoming film in which Brendan Fraser faces off against the long-dead Dragon Emperor (played by Jet Li).
Sierra's version will also follow the action of the film in typical action/adventure style, and should reach stores on July 22. But given the fact that the game will be released shortly, and is only being released for the Wii, DS and PlayStation 2, it seems likely that the development timeframe is vastly compressed, and this probably isn't a game for which we should expect a lot of sophistication.
The Wii and PlayStation 2 versions are being developed by Eurocom while the DS version is being developed by A2M.
