RealNetworks to Spin Off RealArcade
RealNetworks plans to spin off its casual games business, creating a new company and distributing shares of the new company to shareholders. RealNetworks may then sell up to 20% of its stake in an initial public offering.
RealNetworks received $108.5 million of revenues from casual games in 2007 through its RealArcade business. RealNetworks is awaiting board and regulatory approval to move forward with the spin-off.
