NCsoft's First Quarter Slightly Down on Game Cancellation

| | Comments (0)
NCsoft today announced its financial results for its first fiscal quarter ended March 31, 2008.
For the quarter, NCsoft reported net profit of 8.074 Billion Korean Won (around $7.7 million), compared with net profit of 14.121 Billion Korean Won in the same quarter the previous year. While NCsoft's operating income increased, the company's net profit dropped due to a one time write-off related to the cancellation of the project NCsoft was working on with Spacetime Studios.

By region, 57% of sales came from Korea, 12% from North America, 11% from Japan and 10% from Europe. By game, 43% came from Lineage II, 35% came from Lineage, 12% from Guild Wars and 7% from City of Heroes and Villains.

As part of NCsoft's earnings announcement, NCsoft did confirm that it plans to release Aion (as well as Dragonica, Love Beat, Point Blank and Punch Monster) later this year.
