Ubisoft Reports Higher Annual Sales Numbers
Ubisoft reported its sales for its fiscal year and fourth quarter ended March 31, 2008.
For the year, Ubisoft reported sales of €928 million (around $1.46 billion) compared to sales of €680 million in the previous year. For the quarter, Ubisoft reported sales of €217 million, compared to sales of €197 million in the same quarter the prior year.
Ubisoft attributes its financial success to games such as Assassin's Creed (that has sold more than 6 million copies) and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (that has sold nearly 2 million copies). Ubisoft is also pleased with the performance of its "Games for Everyone" brand (with titles like the Petz games) that has achieved around €230 million of sales over the year.
Of Ubisoft's sales, 44% came from Europe and 48% came from North America. By platform, 33% of sales were from the Xbox 360, 27% were from the DS and 23% were from the PlayStation 3 (with other platforms making up the remainder).
